SBI Titan Credit Card
The SBI Titan Credit Card earns 10% cashback on the entire Titan ecosystem — Tanishq jewellery, Titan watches, Helios, Mia, Skinn fragrances, and World of Titan stores. For a niche-loyalty card, the 10% rate is genuinely excellent, but the ₹500/month cap limits maximum cashback to ₹6,000/year.

This card makes strong mathematical sense for anyone who makes regular Tanishq or Titan purchases — wedding jewellery, festival gifting, birthday gifts. Outside Titan, the 0.25% base rate is among the worst in the Indian market, so this card should never be your primary card. Hold it alongside a flat cashback card and only use it at Titan stores.
People who regularly purchase Tanishq jewellery or Titan-brand products for personal use or gifting, who want to maximise returns on a brand they're already loyal to.
You don't shop at Titan brands regularly — the 0.25% base rate on all other spends is simply too low to justify even the ₹999 annual fee.
10% at Titan (cap ₹1,000/mo), 0.25% on other · ₹500 welcome Titan voucher
PROS
- Excellent for Titan shoppers (Tanishq, Titan watches, etc.)
CONS
- Very niche — only useful at Titan
- Very low non-Titan rate
- No lounge access
- Tanishq Jewellery Purchases: 10% cashback on Tanishq is exceptional for gold and diamond jewellery — categories where most credit cards earn 0-1%. On a ₹25,000 Tanishq purchase (one pair of earrings), you earn ₹500 cashback instantly — exactly hitting the monthly cap in a single transaction. For wedding jewellery purchases across multiple months, this can accumulate significantly.
- Titan Watch Gifting: Titan watches range from ₹1,500 to ₹30,000. At 10% cashback on a ₹5,000 Titan watch, you earn ₹500 — the full month's cap. For people who gift Titan watches on birthdays, anniversaries, or festivals multiple times a year, this card pays for its ₹999 fee within two or three gift purchases.
- Helios Watch Store Purchases: Helios carries multi-brand watches including international brands, all qualifying for the 10% Titan card cashback. Buying a ₹8,000 Casio at Helios earns ₹500 cashback (cap applies). This makes the card valuable beyond just Titan brand products to anyone who buys watches through Helios stores.
- Skinn Fragrances and Mia Jewellery: Skinn by Titan fragrances (₹1,000-₹3,000) and Mia by Tanishq everyday jewellery pieces both qualify for the 10% cashback. For regular fragrance or everyday jewellery buyers, these smaller categories still earn at the 10% rate — ₹1,500 Skinn purchase earns ₹150 cashback.
The SBI Titan earns 0.25% on everything outside Titan — one of the lowest base rates in India. IDFC Millennia at ₹499/year earns 2% on all purchases flat. Never use the SBI Titan card outside a Titan store — always have a better base-rate card for everyday transactions.
If you buy jewellery on platforms like CaratLane (owned by Tanishq) online rather than in-store, the SBI Titan's cashback may not apply since CaratLane may process separately. HDFC Millennia earns 5% on online purchases broadly. Check SBI Titan terms for online Titan subsidiary eligibility before assuming coverage.
At 0.25% on dining and grocery, the SBI Titan is counterproductive for daily spending. SBI SimplySAVE earns 2.5% on dining and groceries for ₹499/year — 10x the reward rate on the categories you spend most on daily.
The SBI Titan earns 0.25% on fuel (only the surcharge waiver applies). SBI BPCL Octane earns 6.25% at BPCL. If you're spending ₹4,000+/month on fuel, the Octane is a separate card that will earn ₹3,000+/year vs ₹120 on the Titan.
IDFC Millennia covers everything at 2% flat; SBI Titan activates at Titan stores for 10%. This is the cleanest two-card setup: one card for all general spending, one card used exclusively at Titan. Total fee is ₹1,498/year and you lose no ground on any category.
View IDFC FIRST Millennia Credit Card →Amazon Pay ICICI covers online shopping and Amazon spends at 5% with zero annual fee; SBI Titan covers Titan stores at 10%. Together at ₹999/year total, you have online and physical retail covered at high reward rates without overlapping categories.
Both are SBI cards. SimplySAVE handles dining, groceries, and movies at 2.5%; SBI Titan handles Titan brand purchases at 10%. Staying within the SBI ecosystem keeps card management in one app, and these two cards cover the lifestyle and luxury categories neatly.
View SBI SimplySAVE Credit Card →What is the ₹500/month cap — does it reset monthly?
Yes, the ₹500/month cashback cap on the 10% Titan acceleration resets at the start of each calendar month (or billing cycle — confirm with SBI Card). This means you can earn up to ₹500/month = ₹6,000/year maximum from the Titan 10% benefit. Any Titan spend above ₹5,000/month in that cycle earns only the base 0.25% on the excess.
Does the 10% apply in-store, online, or both?
The 10% cashback is designed for purchases at Titan brand physical stores — World of Titan, Tanishq boutiques, Helios, Mia, and Skinn store outlets — when the card is swiped on the in-store terminal. Online purchases on Titan's website or the Tata Neu app may qualify but should be verified against current SBI Titan card terms, as co-branded card benefits sometimes exclude online transactions from the full accelerated rate.
Is the cashback credited automatically or do I have to claim it?
Cashback on the SBI Titan card is credited as SBI reward points, not direct cashback, earned automatically when qualifying transactions are made. These points appear in your SBI Card account within 3-5 business days of the transaction and can be redeemed through the SBI Card mobile app or sbicardrewards.com.
Can I use this card for CaratLane purchases?
CaratLane is a Tanishq-owned brand and part of the Titan ecosystem. The 10% cashback eligibility for CaratLane transactions should be confirmed in the current SBI Titan card terms — the benefit may apply at CaratLane physical stores. Online CaratLane purchases may or may not qualify. Check the SBI Card website for the updated merchant list before making a large CaratLane purchase expecting 10% back.
What happens if my monthly Titan spend is below ₹5,000?
The 10% cashback applies on whatever you spend at Titan brands up to the ₹5,000 trigger point. If you spend ₹2,000 at a Titan store, you earn ₹200 cashback. The ₹500/month cap means you capture the full benefit between ₹1 and ₹5,000 — there's no minimum Titan spend required to trigger the accelerated rate.
Is there a welcome bonus on the SBI Titan card?
The SBI Titan card has offered a joining cashback of ₹500 or equivalent SBI reward points on first Titan brand purchase within 30-60 days of card issuance. The welcome offer varies by promotion period — check the current offer at the time of application on the SBI Card website.
Should I keep this card or cancel it if I stop shopping at Titan stores?
If you stop making Titan purchases, cancel the card — the 0.25% base rate doesn't justify the ₹999 annual fee by any measure. Unlike cards that earn on general spending and have some passive value, the SBI Titan is purely a category-loyalty card. If Titan isn't your brand, this card is just a fee drain.
