BOB Eterna Credit Card
A hidden gem — 3.75% on dining, travel, and online from a bank nobody expects.
By Ashutosh · Updated June 2026
BOB Eterna flies under the radar because Bank of Baroda isn't the first name in credit cards. But 3.75% on dining, travel, and online shopping is the highest non-HDFC rate in India at this price point. Add 18 lounge visits/year and golf access, and Eterna competes directly with HDFC Regalia.
The fee waiver at ₹2.5L is more achievable than Regalia's ₹4L. The main downsides: 0.75% on general spends, BOB's mobile app is dated, and point redemption options are limited. But for the three categories where it shines, Eterna is genuinely excellent.
Frequent diners, travelers, and online shoppers looking for premium-level rewards without HDFC's ecosystem. If you spend ₹20K+/month across dining/travel/online, the 3.75% rate makes this one of the best value cards available.
You want a great mobile app experience or need wide redemption options. BOB's digital experience lags behind HDFC and Axis. Also skip if most spending is groceries/fuel/utilities (0.75% is below average).

- Travel: 3.75% on travel bookings. Competitive with HDFC Regalia's SmartBuy rates without needing a specific booking portal.
- Online shopping: 3.75% on online shopping is exceptional — only HDFC Millennia's 5% on partners beats it, and that has a ₹1K/month cap.
- Lounge access: 18 visits/year matches HDFC Regalia, at a lower effective fee (easier waiver).

BOB has lower approval thresholds than HDFC for premium cards. If you have an existing BOB relationship or salary account, approval is typically straightforward.
How do I redeem BOB Eterna points?
Points can be redeemed through the BOB rewards portal for gift vouchers, merchandise, or catalogue items. Direct statement credit may be available but check current options — redemption is more limited than HDFC.
BOB Eterna vs HDFC Regalia?
Eterna gives 3.75% on dining/travel/online vs Regalia's 1.33% base. Eterna wins on raw rate. Regalia wins on SmartBuy (up to 13%), app experience, and wider redemption options. If you don't use SmartBuy, Eterna is better value.
